Helpers are essential to the function of the club and the club is always looking to recruit more helpers. It's a very rewarding way to do something for a great cause. If you want to get involved, here are some guidelines on what's involved:-
1) Helpers provide support, assistance & instruction to swimmers when appropriate, so that their swimming session is safe, enjoyable & beneficial.
2) Helpers are subject to an enhanced DBS check & are required to attend a child protection training course every three years.
3) If you cannot swim you can still help in shallow water or by the poolside. You will be offered guidance if you do not have appropriate experience.
4) Training is non formal and is spread over a 2 month probation period (you must attend at least 4 times to complete training).
5) Once you qualify you will be presented with your helper T-shirt.
6) You must be 16 years or over.
7) You will aim to attend at least 2/3 Saturdays a month once you become a helper.
8) Once you have acquired the knowledge needed to become a helper the rewards for giving your time are tremendous.
